If you haven’t heard of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, you’ve probably been living under a rock. It’s clear that this has been one of the most successful viral campaigns of the month, if not the year.

Viral campaigns rely on social media and a sort of indefinable ‘clickability’. Getting your brand out there in such a way that people want to interact with it, especially in this age of distraction, requires inventiveness and insight.

Fox’s Simpsons-themed contribution to the massively successful charitable campaign garnered more than 17 million views and counting since it was posted on Aug. 26.
