HelloPeter.com Under New Management

Today is the first day in the office for Alon Rom in his new position as CEO. Formerly a director of Mr Delivery, and shareholder of takealot.com, Rom steps into the well-worn shoes of Peter Cheales, who in a letter to HelloPeter subscribers said he was leaving to “follow my passions: writing and speaking at conferences.”

The consumer activist site has been “acquired by a consortium of South African and global entrepreneurs” — according to a media statement, which includes Founder Collective, a venture capital firm based in New York and Cambridge, Massachusetts in the US and co-founded by South African David Frankel.

Frankel was co-founder and CEO of Internet Solutions (IS), the largest ISP and private data carrier in Africa, and he served as an Executive Director on the board of London Listed Dimension Data plc which was subsequently acquired by NTT Japan for $3.2bn.

According to Marklives.com, full-service marketing agency, Mustard Marketing, will be the new agency for the company.
