Every week I do a column for Marklives.com, the Africa’s premier site for marketers, about marketing, advertising and media. And each week we select an ad or campaign to feature as our ‘Ad of the Week’. This time it’s not an ad so much as a sponsored event that does wonders for the brand behind it.
PPC, the Pretoria Portland Cement Company Ltd, has created the ‘PPC Imaginarium’ — which is an annual competition for artists in several disciplines; not just the expected ones like architecture and industrial design, but clothing design and jewellery too. The prizes are generous, and the first year’s results are stunning.
