Ad of the Week: Ballantine’s
Ballantine’s Scotch Whisky’s latest campaign is my pick for Ad of the Week, in my regular column on Marklives.com — Africa’s foremost marketing industry website.
Ballantine’s has really stepped out of its comfort zone, and dropped the image of a staid whisky distiller, to sponsor things like ‘underground’ music events, graffiti artists and organisations that are focussed on youth culture.
The ‘ad’ is actually a ten-minute documentary about music and dance in urban South Africa — mainly Johannesburg. It’s a fascinating look at what is happening in a world that most of us don’t have access to.
