Will Africa’s Growth Help Africans?
Much has been written lately of the growth potential in Africa — it’s a continent that is about to go through its next renaissance. But how much is this growth going to be to the advantage of the foreign investors, and how much will translate into wealth for the African people? If history has anything to teach us, it’s that Africa must welcome investment, but not with arms that are so open that all opportunity falls through the gaps (so to speak).
Harvard Business Review has a report by Kanayo F Nwanze, President of the United Nations International Fund for Agricultural Development, about how African leaders can best lead their countries forward in this, the next “Gold Rush” for the continent. Essential reading.
