Selling yourself is a necessary part of many people’s lives. Often a company is more than a brand, it’s the faces and personalities that stand behind that brand. And if you are a smaller business owner, you know that you get more business from people who know and like you than from expensive advertising and PR.
Terry O’Reilly of CBC Radio explores the ins and outs of personal branding, with an interesting case study — Québecois Georges St Pierre, a UFC Mixed Martial Arts champion. He elicited the help of Montréal-based ad agency Sid Lee to help him build his personal brand, in order to gain sponsorship and advertising support.
