AI the Future of Ecommerce
One of the biggest buzzwords of 2016 is undoubtedly going to be ‘Artificial Intelligence’. Where we are going to see this most profoundly is in retail, at least at first, but all marketers need to get acquainted with the tech and the philosophy.
At a presentation for PSFK’s Future of Retail 2016 report, Stitch Fix COO Julie Bornstein spoke about the role of machine learning in personalised shopping.
“The start of personalised marketing has occurred,” says Bornstein. Stitch Fix has 50 data scientists on staff, as well as 2000 stylists working remotely to match customers with products. It is all curated via a proprietary platform that tracks preferences and feedback from clients.
