Google Search Is Getting Smarter
The news that Google’s head of AI, John Giannandrea, will take over from Amit Singhal as head of search (who is retiring), is a clear indication of where the internet colossus is headed. Artificial Intelligence will be the backbone of many aspects of future technology, from self-driving cars to speech, voice and handwriting recognition, to handling everyday tasks like filtering mail — or even answering mail.
Search is going to move away from the familiar Google text-input window, to becoming a fully-fledged personal assistant that understands us and our personal needs and habits.
